A full free day to explore Cairo at your own pace. Whether you crave more adventure or a slower morning, the options are endless. Join an optional desert ATV ride through the dunes, take a day trip to the Mediterranean city of Alexandria, visit the stunning Mosque of Mohammed Ali perched atop the Citadel, or simply wander the city's vibrant streets.
Monday, November 8
Fly south to Luxor — the world's greatest open-air museum — and board your luxury Nile cruise ship before lunch. The afternoon brings you face to face with the colossal Karnak Temple complex and the elegant Luxor Temple, both illuminated magnificently after dark. The evening ends with a belly dancer performance on board.
Tuesday, November 9
Cross to the West Bank of the Nile for one of the most extraordinary days of the journey. Descend into the royal tombs of the Valley of the Kings, marvel at the terraced Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, and stand before the towering Colossi of Memnon. In the afternoon, the ship sets sail south toward Esna as you dine under the stars.
Wednesday, November 10
Sail to Edfu and visit the magnificent Temple of Horus — the best-preserved ancient temple in Egypt, its walls covered in vivid hieroglyphic reliefs. Continue to the unique double temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to both the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon god Haeroris, perched dramatically on a bend in the Nile. Arrive in Aswan — Egypt's southernmost city and gateway to Nubia. Visit the island sanctuary of Philae, dedicated to the goddess Isis and relocated stone by stone to save it from the rising Nile. Sail by motorboat through the granite boulders of the First Cataract to Kitchener's Island Botanical Garden. The evening closes with a vibrant Nubian cultural show.
Friday, November 12
Savour one last breakfast on the Nile as the ship glides through the morning calm. Disembark in Aswan and transfer to the airport for your flight home — carrying with you memories of pyramids, pharaohs, and the timeless river that gave birth to one of history's greatest civilisations.
